Legacy of David Werklund

“BridgeWerk has committed to uphold the principles of integrity, excellence and perseverance that have been the cornerstone of my success and the core values that I hold dear. I believe these principles and values will be the key to their future success.”

Our heritage is grounded in the entrepreneurial roots of David Werklund, whose pioneering leadership reshaped industries and inspired generations. Growing up on a farm in rural Alberta, Dave developed a can-do attitude that propelled him to revolutionize the oilfield services and environmental sectors. In 1984, he founded Canadian Crude Separators (CCS), which became the foundation of Tervita Corporation, a multi-billion-dollar leader in environmental and waste infrastructure. Through bold innovations like pioneering waste management standards and creating the first Canadian underground storage facility, Dave set a new benchmark for operational excellence and environmental stewardship. His visionary philosophy of empowering people and fostering innovation continues to drive BridgeWerk’s commitment to exceptional value creation across industries. Today, Dave's legacy extends far beyond business; his philanthropic work through the Werklund Foundation has transformed youth leadership education, nurturing the next generation of leaders with confidence and resilience.
